Ralph T. Deck, 70, of Coatesville, died Wednesday, April 11, 2007, after a long battle with lung cancer. He was the husband of Jeanette Catanese Deck, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage. Born in Lebanon, he was the son of the late Arthur and Anna Kalbach Deck and stepson of the late Samuel S. Trace.
Ralph attended Scott High School and served in the U.S. Marine Corps, where he graduated from the Armed Forces Institute, Quantico, Va., in 1955. He was employed at Lukens Steel Co., Boeing Aircraft Co., Beloit Eastern, Lasco Metal, Pepperidge Farm and retired from West Chester University with 18 years of service in 1998. Ralph was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Coatesville. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He also enjoyed participating in veterans’ parades and firing the Civil War cannon at the West Chester University football games. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Kimberly Ann Corzo, wife of David of Dallas, Texas, and Kathy Marie Trnka, wife of Michael of West Chester; three grandchildren, Haley, Holly and John; two brothers, Arthur W. Deck Jr. of Westwood and William H. Deck of Munich, Germany; and three half brothers, Samuel Trace Jr. and Philip Trace, both of Florida, and Paul Trace of Glenmoore.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, April 16, at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Ave., Coatesville.
Family and friends may call at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery.
In his memory, contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, 1615 West Chester Pike, Suite 102, West Chester, PA 19382; or Hospice Care Alternatives, 500 Office Center Drive, Suite 285, Fort Washington, PA 19034.

She was the wife of the late H. Gilbert Eavenson who died in 1981. Born September 4, 1937 in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Harry E. and Dorothy Fisher Reedy.
Mrs. Eavenson retired from Mellon Bank, formerly Commonwealth National Bank, where she had been employed in customer service for many years. She enjoyed watching sports, gardening, crossword puzzles, crafts and spending time with her grandchildren.
Surviving are two sons, Nicholas L. husband of Joyce Eavenson of Lititz, and Scott A. husband of Wendy Eavenson of Lancaster; a daughter, Melissa S. Eavenson of St. Petersburg, FL; a brother, Earl husband of June Reedy of Raleigh, NC, and six grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, September 5, 2008 at 7:00 P.M. at the Lancaster Seventh Day Adventist Church, 48 Conestoga Drive, Lancaster, PA. Friends may greet the family at the church on Friday evening from 6:30 P.M. until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Mrs. Eavenson’s memory may be made to Hospice of Lancaster County, 685 Good Drive, P.O. Box 4125, Lancaster, PA 17604-4125.
