Joseph Balla, 72, of Coatesville, died at his residence Monday, Feb. 25, 2008.He was the husband of Ethel Petriko Balla, with whom he shared 46 years of marriage Nov. 22.
Born in Coatesville Aug. 19, 1935, he was the son of the late Alexander and Julia Philip Balla.
He worked as a laborer at Beloit foundry and as a maintenance worker in the local wastewater treatment plant.
He was a member and president of the board of elders at Hope Fellowship Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Babette Watterson of Atglen and Anissa Maholland of Coatesville; a son, Alexander M. Balla of New Holland; a sister, Marjorie Muscatello of Coatesville; a brother, Alexander Balla of Norristown; and four grandchildren.
A memorial service was held Saturday, March 1, at Hope Fellowship Church, Coatesville.
Memorial contributions may be made to Hope Fellowship Church, 395 Madison St., Coatesville, Pa. 19320.

When I graduated, I could not visualize a 50 year reunion!!! Der liebe Gott hilft die Dummste!! I would like it to be known that my father wrote the words to our Alma Mater. He used to be superintendent of all the schools in Coatesville. Benner School was named after him. It doesn't make me a great person, but he deserves some credit.. Thanks for your concern. Hi Bill, Just found out about your web site. Looks great and impressive. I wanted to provide you with some update info on my self and my former wife, Virginia E. Hoopes, also Class of 55. Virginia died on 28 December 1990 after a two year battle with cancer. We have three children. Married to Christine L. Rutledge on 18 November 2000 Retired from the U.S. Navy and working part time for Fairfax County Park Authority. Enjoying semi-retirement and taking lots of cruises on other than "Big Gray Ships" Chris is a Special Education teacher for Fairfax County. We spend most of her school breaks and summers at our Lake House on Lake Anna.

We sold our house in Pa. in June of 2002 and moved here permanently and so far so good. We have met a lot if interesting people. Snork has his 22ft boat and
we love it. He does a lot of fishing and we enjoy crabbing too. We go to the Florida Keys in January and February just to get away from the cold. It is so nice and lay back there and the people are wonderful.

Crossed That Rainbow Bridge
Joseph Cialini, Jr., 69, of Naples, Florida and formerly of Coatesville, PA died Saturday, December 23, 2006 at home. Born in Coatesville, PA on February 10, 1937, he was the son of the late Guiseppe and Maria Ciccarelli Cialini.
Joe was a 1955 graduate of Coatesville High School and attended Villanova University. He served in the United States Army Reserves for two years. He was employed with Budd Company of Exton, and then with Ryder Truck Company in Miami, Florida. Upon his retirement, he moved to Naples, Florida. Joe was a former member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Coatesville and a member of St. Leo’s Church in Bonita Springs, Florida, where he served as an usher. Joe was a member of the Eagles Lodge and the LGM of Coatesville and was a 3rd degree Knight of Columbus.
He is survived by two sisters: Julia Lattanze of Towson, MD and Nancy Pitcherella of Coatesville; three nephews: Gregory Lattanze, Stephen and Vincent Pitcherella; four nieces: Marie Martini, Patricia Woodworth, Teresa Gordon and Barbara Milleson and 21 great nieces and nephews. Additionally, four cousins: Tetziana, Vincenzina and Antonelli Ciccarelli and Louisa Pettinaro, all of Italy. He was preceded in death by a brother: Dominic Cialini.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, January 3 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 80 S. 17th Avenue, Coatesville, PA 19320. Family and friends may call from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m., Wednesday at the Harris-Mountain Funeral Home, 1030 E. Lincoln Highway, Coatesville. Interment will be in St. Cecilia Cemetery, Coatesville.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Rosary Church at the above address or to the Joseph Cialini, Jr. Scholarship Fund, c/o Villanova University, Office of Development, 800 Lancaster Avenue, Villanova, PA 19085-1673.

I just found out about this web page, glad I did it has my Class of 1955,Scott High and I am on the class reunion committee,the info is helpful. 4 children and 4 grand children, after school i worked in auto repair before going to the post office. Started as a letter carrier and latter became the postmaster of Kennett Square. Retired at 55 and worked at the Pennsylvania Liquor Stores for years and retired again at age 65.
